San José, Costa Rica. August 2024. Imperial, one of the most emblematic brands in the country, invites everyone to continue celebrating its 100 years with “Stories to Celebrate”, a campaign that offers 50 new and unmissable designs on its beer cans, which aim to awaken feelings of nostalgia and pride in Costa Ricans.
Each of the multiple designs are a tribute to all those stories, places or moments that have defined the history of the brand and Costa Rica, making it the beer of Costa Rica, which can be found in its different presentations: Imperial Original, Imperial Silver, Imperial Light and Imperial Ultra.
Among some of the stories reflected in these collectible cans are the following:
- Ticos’ Pura Vida: More than a phrase, it is our way of life, a greeting, a thank you and an affirmation that all is going well. PURA VIDA!
- Nicoya, the Blue Zone: One of the five areas in the world where longevity exceeds 90 years, thanks to a healthy life rooted in tradition.
- Paseo de los Turistas: Since the 70’s, this is the ideal place to enjoy a vigorón or a churchill while contemplating one of the best sunsets in the Pacific.
- A country without an army: Costa Rica is proud of its pacifism, represented in the famous phrase: “Blessed is a Costa Rican mother, who knows her son will never be a soldier when he is born”.
- Creole swing: A dance that is not only movement, but the representation of Costa Rican joy, characterized by skipping, bouncing and improvised turns.
- More rice and beans, please!: An emblematic dish was created on the Caribbean beaches, combining coconut, rice and beans, uniting tradition and love for cooking.
- 100 years of Imperial: Imperial beer celebrates a century by our side, being the beer of Costa Rica since 1924.
“At Imperial we know that during these 100 years of history, Costa Ricans have left us countless unique moments that deserve to be shared and remembered, so we wanted to recognize them through “Stories to Celebrate”, a launch of collectibles with different designs on our cans, which pay tribute to our country’s cultural and environmental richness,” said Andrea Quirós, Imperial’s Brand Manager.
As part of the collectibles, all those who purchase Imperial beers duly identified with the “Stories to Celebrate” designs will be able to scan the can number, accumulate points and exchange them for prizes through the website imperial.cr, where step-by-step instructions for each participant are provided.
According to Maria Pía Robles, FIFCO’s Corporate Relations Director, the launching of “Stories to Celebrate” is another great opportunity for all Costa Ricans to continue celebrating Imperial’s 100 years, and she also assures that this action joins different efforts of the company to offer differentiated experiences through its brands.
Looking into the future, Imperial seeks to evolve hand in hand with all Costa Ricans, laying the groundwork for another 100 years of excellence and commitment to quality and sustainability. This promise is reflected in every aspect of its operation, from the selection of ingredients to production and distribution practices. These practices include implementing measures to reduce carbon emissions and responsible water consumption, which has led Imperial to become the first beer in Costa Rica with a type II environmental label. This environmental seal allows FIFCO to account for years of sustainability efforts, ensuring that every step of the process is aligned with the highest standards of quality and respect for the environment.
