At FIFCO, we want to champion our communities and be a benchmark in integral smart consumption.

FIFCO The “Integral Smart Consumption” program has a comprehensive approach incorporating the moderate consumption of sodium, sugar and fat, as well as the promotion of healthy lifestyles. One of the key initiatives of the program are the Healthy Circuits, executed in alliance with the Ministry of Public Education, in order to bring playful education to minors so that they learn about how to have a healthy lifestyle, where balanced nutrition, physical activity and zero alcohol consumption are essential.

The following lines of action were established:

1. Promotion of Integral Smart Consumption as a healthy lifestyle
2. Promotion of new consumption occasions
3. Encourage sensitive populations, such as minors, not to consume alcoholic beverages at all and have a balanced lifestyle

As part of the evolution of the sustainability strategy, FIFCO established 9 goals for 2027. One of them is to lead education on smart consumption in CR and manufacture low-alcohol products, which represent 55% of our volume. Additionally, programs related to smart alcohol consumption are promoted.

Portfolio: we reduced 677 tons of salt from our food portfolio (October 2024)

Achievements 2024

  • If we compare the closing of October 2024 vs. the total of 2023, FIFCO has decreased sugar content by 423 tons.
  • By October 2024, the food portfolio reduced fat by 15%. We improved the fat profile of our products with oils rich in essential fatty acids.
  • 677 tons of salt have been eliminated from the food portfolio:

We maintained levels below the national target for sodium and fat in the Melcochón bread family.

  • Bamboo went from 10g to zero added sugars across the portfolio.
  • New Maxxx Energy Apple-Kiwi and Blackberry Boost are 0 sugar.
  • Seagrams Escapes with 3.2% alcohol had a 2% sugar reduction.
