- Maintains contributions at national level through the National Emergency Commission and the Red Cross
- 10,000 units of water, Tropical and Gatorade were delivered to rescuers and affected people
- Volunteers from FIFCO’s Hospitality division will serve rice with chicken, freshly baked bread and beverages to 1,500 people located in the Santa Cruz and Filadelfia shelters
Florida Ice and Farm Company (FIFCO) deployed direct aid for rescuers and people affected by the emergency situation the country is going through. The support is concentrated on four fronts:
- Aid to FIFCO’s collaborators affected by rain and floods. As a priority, a survey of impacts was made, and the respective accompaniment and support plans were put in place.
- Hydration: The company is in direct coordination with government authorities, the National Emergency Committee and the Red Cross to provide support in assisting the national emergency. We provided 10,000 units of water, Tropical and Gatorade to give to rescuers and affected people.
- Hot meals: Friday, Saturday and Sunday, hot meals and freshly baked bread will be provided to the 1,500 people temporarily located in the shelters of Santa Cruz and Filadelfia, Guanacaste, the most affected areas. This assistance is being provided thanks to FIFCO volunteers, FIFCO Hospitality – Reserva Conchal division and the support of collaborators from Musi stores and Musmanni bakeries nearby. Thanks to the support of the company Salqui of Cartago, 3,000 units of pâté will also be donated.
- Bed linen: FIFCO, through its Hospitality division – Reserva Conchal, will donate 432 kilos of sheets, comforters and pillows to the Santa Cruz and Filadelfia shelters.
Maria Pía Robles, FIFCO’s Corporate Relations Director, commented: “We are in solidarity with all the people who are going through difficult times and FIFCO says once again ‘here we are for Costa Rica’. In coordination with the authorities of the National Emergency Commission and the Red Cross, we provided hydration to rescuers and affected populations. In addition, we proposed to serve one hot meal a day and freshly baked bread to the people located in the Santa Cruz and Filadelfia shelters.”
Additionally, the company has taken different measures to continue supplying points of sale throughout the country.
The company will channel its contributions and direct aid to the affected population through the National Emergency Commission.
