FIFCO awards the company’s most sustainable suppliers

15 December, 2022

– Suppliers are part of FIFCO’s Sustainable Purchasing program.

– Program seeks to guide suppliers to improve their sustainability practices.

Florida Ice and Farm (FIFCO) awarded the company’s most sustainable suppliers, who achieved scores over 100 within the Sustainable Purchases program.

This program involves FIFCO’s value chain in sustainable practices, and for this occasion more than 380 suppliers were evaluated under a standard methodology, which are in line with the company’s way of doing business and its sustainability goals.

The initiative ranks suppliers according to their final score and guides them in implementing an improvement plan to reduce their footprint. The program helps suppliers to develop their capabilities by providing advice during the evaluation process, technical and personalized support, an annual training program, forums, among other benefits.

Suppliers that participate in the Sustainable Purchasing program enjoy standardization of good practices in sustainability, which generates differentiation in the market, a more sustainable client portfolio, a better image and high competitiveness.

Maria Pía Robles, FIFCO’s Corporate Relations Director, commented “this program encourages suppliers to improve, since critical situations in the commercial relationship are identified and they are given a guide so they can be increasingly competitive in the labor market. This responds to our corporate responsibility to measure, reduce and offset the social and environmental impacts of the value chain, all in line with our new sustainability goals for 2025.”

For the 2021-2022 period, 23 suppliers were included in the “World Class” category:
